Chris Oakley’s “Sight/Seeing" video installation
explores the commodification of the wild as typified in the modern
safari (i.e. “seeing” through a camcorder viewfinder,
through the windscreen of a bus). Chris Oakley's work is concerned
with mediated experiences in its many forms, including mainstream
media, mass communications, amateur photography and augmented reality.
Chris lives and works in the UK and has received widespread recognition
in Europe. He has shown alongside Tony Ourlser, Pipilotti Rist and
Josef Robakowski.
