LiveBox operates in multiple realms:

Virtual Space: LiveBox exhibits in temporary spaces, taking over empty spaces, collaborating with other galleries, and attending art fairs. These spaces are curated to create new media experiences, including interactive work which transports the gallery beyond bricks and mortar.

Gallery Director and Curator: Catherine Forster

Catherine Forster created LiveBox in 2006 to fill a void in the Chicago art scene. Video and particularly new media were marginalized, few exhibition opportunities existed. Catherine is a filmmaker, artist, curator and educator. Her enthusiasm for working with artists and discovering new work is exponential and the backbone of her commitment to LiveBox. Catherine's artwork has been shown in exhibitions at the Carnegie Art Museum, Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum Chicago, South Bend Regional Art Museum, Flint Institute of Art, Orange County Contemporary Art Center, Exit Art (NY), Hyde Park Art Center Chicago, and the Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius, Lithuania, to name a few. She has participated in numerous festivals internationally, most recently the Echotrope New Media Arts Festival, Omaha, Simultan Media Arts Festival, Romania, Directors Lounge (Berlin), Sao Paul International Short Film Festival, Magmart Film Festival Casoria International Contemporary Art Museum (Italy), and San Diego International Women Film Festival. In addition, she has developed media installations for Chicago Vanguard's productions No Exit and Reagan's Children.

Curator and Exhibitions "General!": Patrick Cunningham

Patrick Cunningham is a tenacious problem solver who once spent over an hour and a half landing a golf ball on a golf tee inside a snow globe at an office supply store. He works to eliminate boundaries between the roles of artist, organizer and curator. His interests include negotiating issues related to displaying, collecting, making and preserving electronic, performance, bio- and durational art. Recent exhibitions of Patrick's work include projects at the Sullivan Galleries Chicago, Living Arts Center of Oklahoma, Boston CyberArts Festival, St. Paul's Cultural Center Chicago, New Genre Festival Oklahoma and Chicago (telematic work), 1213 Sharp gallery Chicago, IAO gallery Oklahoma, Momentum OKC, Weitzenhoffer College of Fine Arts and the International Upgrade Conference

Curator and Sonic Master: Matt Griffin

Matt Griffin is a Canadian sound artist and composer living and working in Chicago.  He holds a BFA in Music from Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts and an MFA in Sound from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  He has curated programs for the Experimental Sound Studio, The West Coast Composers Symposium, the Two Can Play at That Game Festival (Chicago) and Around the Coyote.  His work has been shown around the world, from Takaka Hill, New Zealand, to Regina, Saskatchewan.  Matt also runs the experimental music record label Electricity is Magic.
